1. Green Mountain Nature Trail

Nestled in a serene location, the Green Mountain Nature Trail is a 72-acre preserve that offers a peaceful retreat to anyone looking. As Fall sets in, the landscape transforms into a beautiful canvas of vibrant colors sweeping through the forest, creating one of the most photographable local Autumn scenes. While the trail is a perfect place to immerse yourself in a hike, finding a pile of leaves to play in is not to be missed this time of year. After your frolicking session, grab a seat on one of the many benches or swings and enjoy a picnic while taking in the scenery.

2. The Trails at Space & Rocket Center

What's more fun than combining the wonders of science and nature? The U.S. Space and Rocket Center is already a wonderful place of knowledge and innovation, but during the Fall, its trails come alive with the colors of the season. The trails meander through the serene woods around the center, offering visitors a unique blend of natural beauty, space-age inspiration, and many opportunities to be one with the fallen leaves.

Finding the trails is part of the fun, as they aren't apparent to the unexpecting eye. To locate these trails, head towards the Marriot and continue past the RV park, heading towards the aviation challenge.

4. Burritt on the Mountain

We can't leave Monte Sano off this list! The state park is always an excellent leaf-pepping and playing option, but we want to highlight Burritt on the Mountain. It's not just a living history museum; it's a world of magnificent city views and an excellent location to frolic in the leaves. Our favorite place for leaf play at Burritt is on the trail near the iconic Cross.
